world car free day 2005!

In 2005 Toronto cancelled all their "plans" for closing Queen Street to the automobile for World Car Free Day - they weren't doing anything, so we did it ourselves!

Despite pouring rain and gale force winds, dozens of musicians and a 150 strong crew came out to celebrate. No permission, no police escort, with nothing but high spirits and the right cause, we spontaneously achieved the "impossible" - Queen St full of people, no cars, and the streetcars still got through.

And we did it again in 2006!
